Antony
Hi my name is Antony Joy. My passion for engineering began with a deep fascination for cars, which naturally led me toward mechanical engineering. This interest took a turn when I watched the Falcon 9 rocket land with astonishing precision, sparking an enduring passion for aerospace engineering and the boundless possibilities of space exploration.
Studying at HKUST has been a transformative journey, providing the tools and opportunities to turn my passion into expertise. In my second year, I participated in the ASME competition, where hands-on challenges brought theoretical concepts to life, sharpening my practical skills. Additionally, HKUST’s Job board allowed me to secure an internship early in my second year, offering real-world exposure that helped me clarify my career interests and deepened my understanding of engineering applications.
My recent internship working on computational fluid dynamics ignited a new curiosity, leading me to enroll in HKUST’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program this semester under my thermodynamics professor. Beyond academics, HKUST’s vibrant, diverse community has enriched my experience, connecting me with students from around the world and broadening my perspective. The university’s emphasis on innovation and research has empowered me to pursue my ambitions in aerospace, bringing me closer to my dream of contributing to technologies that push the boundaries of human exploration.
