Engineering Student Ambassador, 2025-26
Class of 2028,
BEng in Mechanical Engineering
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

My fascination with engineering began with space. During my childhood, I would weekly watch documentaries detailing space with my parents. Those sessions were more than entertainment; they sparked a deep curiosity about the engineering behind the rockets, rovers, satellites and other technologies used to study the cosmos. I was captivated by how these technologies were developed and how they could be adapted for new, groundbreaking purposes. A pivotal moment arrived when I realized I didn't just have to wonder about these marvels, but I could learn to build them myself. This revelation solidified into a driving passion for engineering, directly leading me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Robotics.

My time at HKUST has been transformative, allowing me to deepen my theoretical knowledge and practical expertise through a rigorous curriculum and immersive, hands-on projects. From a variety of interactive lab experience to lectures, I have been able to sharpen my problem-solving skills and understand the critical importance of collaboration and clear communication in turning complex ideas into tangible solutions.

The vibrant and supportive SENG community has been instrumental in my growth, providing a dynamic environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and resilience. This community has continually motivated me to push my boundaries and build the confidence necessary for a successful engineering career. Now, as an ESA, I am thrilled to give back. I am eager to share my passion, experiences, and insights with fellow students, helping to guide and inspire them on their own journeys. If you have any questions, please never hesitate to reach out! I am always happy to help.
