Biography
Prof. Wei Wang received his B.Engr. and M.Engr. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2007 and 2010, respectively and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada, in 2015. Since 2015, he has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is also affiliated with the HKUST Big Data Institute. Dr. Wang's research interests cover the broad area of distributed systems, with focus on serverless computing, machine learning systems, and large-scale cluster management. He published extensively in the premier conferences and journals of his fields. His research has won the Best Paper Runner Up awards of IEEE ICDCS 2021 and USENIX ICAC 2013.
